Private Northern Okinawa Experience — 3 Days, 2 Nights.
A private three-day adventure for couples and families — hidden waterfalls, jungle rappelling, starlit camps, and a market-fresh feast at a mountain lodge. Entirely yours.
Three days that take you deeper into Okinawa's untamed beauty than most ever go — hidden waterfalls, jungle rappelling, sea kayaking, and starlit camps. We handle the logistics; you just show up ready.

Itinerary.
- Day 1
Northern interior — waterfall, forest & cycle course
A jungle trail leads through shade and the sound of running water to a hidden waterfall. Lunch is seasonal: streamside in summer, forest soba house in winter. The afternoon takes the group onto a coastal cycle course — past ancient trees and ocean viewpoints, at a pace that rewards the curious.

Yanbaru jungle — two waterfalls, a rappel & a feast
A full day in the deep forest. Through the ancient jungle of Yanbaru to a series of hidden waterfalls. Climb the first, press further in and climb the second, then stand at the edge of the biggest and rappel down the face of it into the basin below. The evening is the lodge owner's market-fresh feast — course after course of locally sourced food, conversation poured along with the awamori.

- Day 3
Yanbaru to the edge — jungle waterways & Cape Hedo
A home-prepared breakfast by the lodge owner, then morning kayaking through tranquil jungle waterways beneath towering canopies. Lunch at a local northern diner. The afternoon takes the group to Cape Hedo — the northernmost tip of Okinawa, where the Pacific and East China Sea meet at a stretch of dramatic coastline. A final lookout before the drive south.
Home-prepared breakfast by the lodge owner (included)Lunch at a northern local diner (included)
Northern Okinawa is a different country from the resorts in the middle and south. Yanbaru's jungle is one of the most ecologically significant forests in Japan with 50% of species only ever found right there — old trees, hidden streams, waterfalls you have to walk to. This route uses the geography as the itinerary.
Day two is the pivot — a full day in the deep forest with two waterfalls climbed, then a rappel down the face of the biggest. Cold water, vivid green, and the satisfaction of earning a view. The lodge owner that night cooks a feast from whatever was freshest at the market that morning, then sits down at your table and pours a drink. Unhurried, generous, not in any guidebook.
“This was not a tourist package. It was a genuine adventure into the wild heart of Okinawa.”

Read all reviewsWas an amazing tour, the tour guide was amazing!
We had a great tour with Yumi. She was very knowledgeable about the area and we were able to see many beautiful sites in Okinawa. We are so grateful!
Would highly recommend Things To Do In Okinawa for anyone wanting an amazing day in Okinawa. We selected a full day tour which included a hike to a waterfall (which we ended up having all to ourselves!), lunch, and then a charter boat to two snorkelling locations. Our group was small (only 3 people) which we loved since then we really got to know the other wonderful person in our group as well as our amazing guide Aya. Aya was wonderful and graciously shared with us a lot of Okinawa history throughout the day which we really enjoyed. They also provided everything we needed- including boots to wear on our trek to the waterfall and all snorkelling gear. I think the ability to really customize your day, the small groups, and Aya’s great guidance make a Things To Do in Okinawa tour well worth it!!
