This island hopping tour in Okinawa gave me a truly once in a lifetime experience. From fishing with a Local fisherman, to eating our fresh catch right there on the boat and then experiencing the hospitality of a dinner in their own home! Aya was a fun, energetic and incredible tour host and I can’t thank her enough for helping me not feel like a tourist but an actual part of their community! Highly recommend this experience!

We had an amazing experience with Evertrail Tours. The tour was very informative, and everyone was incredibly friendly throughout the entire time. Aya was especially great—she made the experience feel less like a guided tour and more like we were being shown around by a longtime friend. She’s very personable, easy to talk to, and clearly very knowledgeable about everything we saw. Nothing felt rushed or scripted, which made it even more enjoyable. We learned a lot while still having a relaxed, fun time. We’ll definitely be booking more tours with them in the future and highly recommend Evertrail Tours to anyone looking for a great experience.

The Culture & Coast tour with Aya and Yumi was fantastic! I really appreciated their focus on the experience, along with being so attentive and willing to explain and teach us at every step. It was so informative, I feel like I gained a whole new appreciation for Okinawa and the history of this great island. The pair were also working so well together professionally when they passed on knowledge, and they even learned from each other at times. It amazed me how open they were. There is so much knowledge to Okinawa. Other tours I've been a part of tend to dip into snapshots and photos at every turn and feel very detached from the experience, but this one will be memorable because of the attention and focus on our experience, whether at the fish market, the bunker, or the coast. I admit, I had many many questions, but they were patient and shared what they could openly, too!

I had an amazing experience with Evertrail Tours, and Aya made it unforgettable. She showed me around Kokusai Dori Market and gave me a real local experience that I wouldn’t have found on my own. We stopped at a pickling stand where I met the owner’s kids who were working at the time. I actually connected with the son because of my tattoos 😂 They started telling me about their dad, who wasn’t there that day, and said his nickname was “Elvis.” I was like, why Elvis?! Then they showed me a picture and I couldn’t stop laughing the hair really looked just like Elvis 😂 They were super welcoming and generous, letting me try a bunch of their pickles, and every single one was honestly amazing. It felt like such a genuine, local experience. After that, we picked out fresh fish from the market and had it cooked upstairs butter garlic style, which is an Okinawan signature dish. It was rich, flavorful, and seriously one of the best meals I had on my trip. Then we went to an izakaya for yakitori, and I can confidently say I had the best chicken skin of my life perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside. That first bite really hit, you could probably tell from my reaction lol. One funny moment I won’t forget Aya had a skewer with quail eggs in one hand and another with meat in the other. She’d take a bite of the quail egg, then immediately chase it with the meat because she wasn’t really a fan of the eggs but still ate them anyway 😂 I don’t know why but that moment stuck with me, it was just real and funny. We kept it going and hit another izakaya where I tried something I never thought I would raw goat sashimi. Aya even gave me an out if I didn’t want to try it, but I figured I’m here, why not… and honestly, it was amazing. I finished the whole dish 😂 By the end of it, I completely forgot I was even on a tour it just felt like exploring with a friend. Aya is an incredible person, super knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel natural and fun. Didn’t take many pictures because I was too busy enjoying the moment and honestly, that says everything about how good this experience was. This was easily one of the highlights of my Okinawa trip. Highly recommend

We booked a full day north Okinawa tour and requested both a river trek and a hike up Mount Katsuudake. We had a great time with Yumi (who is fluent in English and - as a native Okinawan - very knowledgeable on local customs). She kept the mood light and fun.

We recently completed the 3-Day 2-Night Northern Okinawa Experience with Evertrail Tours Japan and it was one of the best travel experiences we have had in Japan. This was not a tourist package. It was a genuine adventure into the wild heart of Okinawa and gave us access to places and experiences we would never have found ourselves. From the start, the organisation and hospitality were excellent. We were met at our hotel on the first day by Yumi and taken on our first river trek through beautiful untouched scenery. Due to wet weather, the team proactively offered multiple alternative activities rather than simply cancelling plans. We chose to visit a real Karate dojo where we were introduced to Okinawan Karate training by Karate Master Matsuda-san, who genuinely felt like a real-life Mr Miyagi. It became one of the highlights of the trip. The adventure side of the tour was outstanding. We spent a full day river trekking through jungle landscapes, climbing waterfalls, jumping into crystal-clear pools, and abseiling down waterfalls. The guides balanced safety and excitement perfectly throughout. The accommodation and food were also exceptional. After the trekking day we stayed at a wonderful mountain lodge and enjoyed authentic home-cooked Japanese cuisine using fresh local ingredients. It felt personal and completely unlike a standard hotel experience. Our final day with Aya explored the history of the local caves that sheltered hundreds of people during the war. It added an emotional and deeply human perspective to Okinawa that most visitors never see. Overall, this was a fabulous experience and gave us a genuine connection to the real Okinawa, its nature, history, culture, and people. Highly recommended for anyone wanting something authentic, adventurous, and unforgettable.

I came for “a tour” and accidentally got the best day of my vacation. Zero chaos, zero awkwardness, and somehow we hit a bunch of incredible places without it feeling like we were being herded around. 10/10 would happily do another tour with these guys!

A few weeks ago I did the 3 day Northern Okinawa tour and it was incredible. The Nago forests are spectacular it felt as if we had been transported into a different ancient time. Century old trees teaming with life and cascading waterfalls this place was really special. The trekking wasn’t too difficult and we were given enough rest stops to sit and take in the beauty. The dinner with Shimura san was well deserved after a long day. Quite the spread of local authentic food all freshly prepared. Zip lining, kayaking through the mangroves, the cliffs at Cape Hedo, an incredible 3 days definitely the highlight to our Japan Trip. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I travelled with my fiancé to Okinawa in summer this year and booked through Things To Do – and I’m so glad we did. As a vegetarian, I thought meals in Japan would be difficult, but David and Aya made it so easy and every dish was delicious. If we hadn’t booked through them, we wouldn’t have had the same authentic and stress-free experience. Truly five stars! We will be back :)

We had the most incredible experience on our trip to Okinawa from 14th May to 4th June this year, and it truly deserves every one of its 5 stars. I travelled with my dad and my partner, and from the very beginning the whole experience was seamless, professional, and beyond anything we expected. We booked through Things To Do, and I can honestly say they made this trip unforgettable. Our tour guides, David and Aya, were absolutely fantastic – knowledgeable, warm, and always went above and beyond to make sure the three of us had the best possible time. Their passion and insights into Okinawa’s history, culture, and hidden gems gave us a much deeper appreciation of this beautiful region! ❤ The driver was consistently punctual, which meant our days ran smoothly and we got the most out of our day. Every transfer felt effortless, allowing us to simply relax and enjoy the stunning scenery together. Highlights of the trip are too many to count, but a few really stood out. Visiting the secret waterfalls in Nago felt like discovering a hidden world – peaceful, breathtaking, and far from the usual tourist trails. The beautiful beaches in Ogimi were another highlight, we went at a time when it was and quiet without the crowds. Our time in Kunigami was equally unforgettable: after a day of exploring, we enjoyed a wonderful Japanese BBQ dinner, followed by one of the most magical evenings imaginable – lying under the stars with no light pollution, watching shooting stars. Meals throughout the trip were another highlight – both lunches and dinners were consistently delicious, offering a variety of authentic Okinawan food. I love Japanese food anyway so I was easily pleased and always keen to try different foods😆 One of the things we appreciated most was that by booking through Things To Do, we really did get to live like locals rather than fall into the usual tourist traps like some other places we have been on mainland Japan. The experiences, restaurants, and destinations we were introduced to felt authentic, meaningful, and unique - not something we would have found on our own. Overall, this trip was everything we hoped for and more. From the organisation to the unique experiences and personal touches, it was a truly first-class trip. We couldn’t have asked for a better company than Things To Do, or better guides than David and Aya. If you’re looking for a holiday that is stress-free, immersive, and unforgettable, this is it.

My husband and I booked the tour with Things To Do Japan from 3-5 Feb 2026 (culture and coast tour). It was our first time in Okinawa and we were looking to experience Okinawa through the eyes of a local! Aya was our guide and she felt more like a good friend showing us around her beautiful Okinawan island home. Throughout the trip, she shared with us insights and stories not just about Okinawan history and culture, but also about her personal connection to Okinawa (which made the journey all the more personable and memorable! There's a saying that people make the place and we really loved how Aya embodied that with her passion for this island) Beyond exploring various breathtaking local hideaway spots, Aya's sincerity and hospitality made this trip to Okinawa worthwhile! Water boots etc were provided for water activities and we especially loved the spontaneous roadside stop for local fruits! On our last day there, we requested if it would be possible for transport to be arranged to drop us off at the airport and we were glad that Things To Do Japan were able to accommodate this request. Would recommend this company especially if you are tight on time planning your own trip to Okinawa and want a peace of mind Thank you Aya and David for a memorable first trip to Okinawa! <3

Thank you for a great time! I did the 2 day tour with day one being the Culture & Coast Half-Day (City Center → South Coast) and day two being the Half-Day Ocean Cave Exploration. It was very flexible and accomodating around my schedule. I really enjoyed the in depth explanations and experiencing all the spots we visited as well as the tours being filled with fun and laughter. I learned a lot about Okinawa, the culture, stories about the past and people of Okinawa, and was also able about to try a bunch of different food as well as visit local spots. It felt like a true local experience with hidden gems provided by friends. Recommendations for other things to do or places to visit were provided too. There was also some sick film photos taken during the tours. I recommend anyone seeing this to visit Okinawa and especially to book with @thingstodoin.jp to enhance their experience in Okinawa! I’m excited for the next time I visit Okinawa! Would book a different tour in the future!

Would highly recommend Things To Do In Okinawa for anyone wanting an amazing day in Okinawa. We selected a full day tour which included a hike to a waterfall (which we ended up having all to ourselves!), lunch, and then a charter boat to two snorkelling locations. Our group was small (only 3 people) which we loved since then we really got to know the other wonderful person in our group as well as our amazing guide Aya. Aya was wonderful and graciously shared with us a lot of Okinawa history throughout the day which we really enjoyed. They also provided everything we needed- including boots to wear on our trek to the waterfall and all snorkelling gear. I think the ability to really customize your day, the small groups, and Aya’s great guidance make a Things To Do in Okinawa tour well worth it!!

First tour experience ever and it exceeded my expectations in every way. Aya offered an experience that felt as if she was a friend, showing us her favorite spots in Okinawa. The places we went to were great as well. The hike to the waterfall was amazing and was private. The lunch that was served was delicious. The snorkeling locations were so awesome and I had such a wonderful time. Aya made the trip all the more worthwhile with her enthusiasm and passion for Okinawa, and for how knowledgeable she was in the history and culture of Okinawa. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to explore this wonderful island!

I came into this with little-to-no expectations, knowing that I was initially interested in Okinawan culture and being more adventurous. Fortunately, I'm glad to say that Things To Do In Okinawa went above and beyond with personalizing my private 3-day tour to match exactly what I wanted to get out of Okinawa! The tour was amazing from start to finish. I began with exploring Shimuku Gama in learning how it served as a shelter for 1,000 refugees who came out of there alive during WW2, swimming through a secret cave near Cape Maeda, trekking to a hidden lesser-known waterfall for a dip and some stoneskipping, and peacefully glamping with yakiniku grilling to end the night. The next day then had me being welcomed as family by the locals of Izena Island with charter fishing, snorkeling and a home-cooked dinner featuring our fresh catches. On my final day, the itinerary consisted of understanding Izena Island's relation to Okinawan history overall, getting introduced to some of the island's hardworking local businesses/products, and lastly basking in the beauty of Cape Manzamo while enjoying the refreshing taste of acerola. Truly, I could not have asked for a better experience. David, Aya, James, and the lovely folks at や~ぐな~ were so accommodating and kind throughout my entire tour. All my thanks to the team at Things To Do In Okinawa for helping to create unforgettable memories for my first time in Okinawa. I would highly recommend doing a tour with them for anyone visiting Okinawa, or even to those already living there!
