Return to the meeting point
Back where you started.
The morning is built around one waterfall. Thirty to forty minutes of easy wading up a river under thick subtropical canopy gets you there — most groups spend an hour at the pool before they realise. Lunch is laid out on the rocks. The water is cold. You'll want to swim twice. During the colder months, lunch is a hot bowl of Okinawa soba to warm you up, served at a charming little place deep in Motobu.
What happens after lunch depends on the day. In the afternoon, we cycle a stretch of the old Ryukyu coast through villages most travellers drive past, and stop at a local power spot with incredicle views. Learn the importance of this power spot to the locals.
If arranged at the time of booking, we can tailor the afternoon activity to suit your group. Options include sea kayaking through a peaceful jungle waterway, a guided hike to one of Okinawa’s best panoramic viewpoints, a hands-on yachimun pottery studio experience, or a private charter island hop to Minna Island for an afternoon snorkel in some of Okinawa’s clearest waters.

Read all reviewsHad an amazing experience! We did the Northern tour and it was the highlight of our trip to Japan. Dave was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. My friend from Scotland I was travelling with was special needs and Dave couldn’t have made him feel more comfortable kayaking. Recommend when visiting Okinawa
Best day of our whole trip to Japan. We did an unbelievable river walk to a water fall and then to snorkelling. Breath taking experience.
First tour experience ever and it exceeded my expectations in every way. Aya offered an experience that felt as if she was a friend, showing us her favorite spots in Okinawa. The places we went to were great as well. The hike to the waterfall was amazing and was private. The lunch that was served was delicious. The snorkeling locations were so awesome and I had such a wonderful time. Aya made the trip all the more worthwhile with her enthusiasm and passion for Okinawa, and for how knowledgeable she was in the history and culture of Okinawa. I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to explore this wonderful island!
