Okinawa has layers most visitors never reach. This journey peels them back one island at a time — from the alleyways and WWII tunnels of Naha, to the jewel-blue reefs of the Kerama Islands, through the craft villages and jungle waterfalls of the central coast, and out to Izena.

Itinerary.
- Day 1
South Okinawa: markets, tunnels & waterfront
The tour starts at 10:00 in Naha's covered market streets — pick your own fish and have it prepared for lunch. From there it's underground into a stretch of WWII-era tunnels, a short but sobering detour, before heading out to the coast to see the cliffs and a tucked away hidden gem. You'll be back at the accommodation by late afternoon, where your guide will share izakaya recommendations and brief you on the day ahead. The rest of the evening is free time — dinner is on you, at your own pace, before heading back to rest.

Tokashiki: Ferry Out to the Kerama Islands
A morning ferry from Tomari Port drops you on Tokashiki, part of the Kerama Islands and home to some of the clearest water in Okinawa. The standard package includes an e-bike ride with your guide to Aharen Beach for lunch, with time to explore a few viewpoints and beaches before returning the bikes. Prefer to go your own way? The island bus and simply wandering on foot are both easy options. Free time continues until dinner together at a local restaurant in the evening.

Zamami & the Road to Onnason
The ferry to Zamami departs early, arriving on the island at 10:00am. The standard plan has your guide leading the way on e-bikes to a handful of amazing viewpoints — the kind with picturesque views over the famous Kerama blue and dramatic, sweeping cliffs — before settling in for lunch. After lunch, the afternoon is yours: rent a bike, walk, or hop on the local bus to keep exploring at your own pace. For those who want to get in the water, there's an optional snorkel tour from 1:00–3:30pm, visiting three snorkel points with a high chance of swimming alongside sea turtles. This add-on requires advance booking and comes with an additional fee. In the late afternoon, the ferry brings you back to Tomari, and it's a drive across to your beachside hotel where you are free for the night to choose your dinner, eat or or at the hotel.

Yomitan: Sacred Caves & Craft Village
The morning is spent exploring a network of caves that hold real significance in Okinawan history and culture, with your guide walking you through their importance to the island's story. From there, it's lunch at a local roadside market, followed by a relaxed walk through a traditional craft village, where pottery, glass, and textile artisans work in the open. The rest of the afternoon is free time until the evening izakaya dinner. Conditions permitting, optional add-ons include a surf and snorkel session, a first-time scuba dive, or a cooking class.

Northern coast — waterfall, fukugi trees & retro dinner
Start the day with a trek to a hidden waterfall — one that's off the radar for most visitors, so more often than not, you'll have it entirely to yourselves. Lunch is seasonal: sometimes it's by the falls to make the most of the water, other times at a local soba spot, depending on the day. In the afternoon, cycle through an old Ryukyuan village, riding under fukugi tree tunnels before stopping at a local power spot, where your guide shares its meaning and significance to Okinawans. Head back to the hotel with free time to rest until 18:00, before dinner together at a local izakaya.

Izena Island — off the map
A ferry crossing takes you to Izena, one of Okinawa's least-visited islands. After lunch on the island, spend the afternoon on a half-day fishing and snorkeling charter with a local guide, then share dinner at a local izakaya on the island. You'll spend the night in a traditional Okinawan house or guesthouse.

Izena to mainland — live like a local
After breakfast, take a morning hike up to a beautiful viewpoint with sweeping views of the island and its surroundings. From there, spend the rest of your last morning exploring Izena at your own pace — try fresh sugarcane juice and sea grapes, a local island specialty, then lunch at a local eatery. In the afternoon, the ferry takes you back to the mainland, with a stop for fresh acerola on the way to your return point.

Seven days is the version of this trip with breathing room. The same arc as the six-day — Naha, Kerama, Onnason, Izena — but with a full extra day on the central coast for sea caves, a long lunch at a road station, and an evening at a locals-favourite spot.
By day four you'll have settled into the rhythm of it. The pacing is the point: enough movement to keep things interesting, enough stillness to actually feel the place. Day six is Izena. Day seven is the gentle goodbye.

Culture & Coast half day tour with. I was visiting from Australia and my tour guide was Aya. Visited market arcade stroll. Fresh fish and meat markets. Got to enjoy selecting a fish and how u like it cooked. Underground wartime tunnels & Memorial. South coast historic waterfall and tide pool. It was an amazing tour. Aya was awaresome with information about each place we visited. If your in Okinawa and want to explore and also visit the other islands around Okinawa highly recommend. I will be heading back to okinawa next year and will be booking with this tour again. 😀
We did the 3 day 2 night tour and it was outstanding. The itinerary was so well thought out and we were well prepared for our trip. David was ready to answer any questions we had which we really appreciated. The activities were well planned but also we felt we had plenty time to relax and take in the surroundings. This is a trip that you absolutely need to add to your bucket list. We will be back hopefully!!
