THE TRIP, DAY BY DAY

click any day to expand

  • Morning weaving through the covered arcades that have been standing since just after the war, pointing out the best stalls, watching your pick of seafood grilled in front of you. Then underground — into the WWII tunnels beneath the city. Quiet, powerful. The afternoon opens along southern cliffs where turquoise water crashes into white reef. The evening is yours! Receive a handful of locations from your guide to hit up for some hole in the wall street food — cold highballs, sizzling yakitori, a great end to your first day.

Included: Market walk · WWII tunnels (entry inc.) · Cliff viewpoints · Guide · Naha capsule hostel or twin room

  • The Kerama Islands are famous for a reason — coral gardens, sea turtles, and water so clear it barely looks real. Bags down at the hotel and the day opens up. Move or be still — boats head to reef points, SUP sessions launch from calm lagoons, bikes loop between beaches and viewpoints. Or find a quiet cove and stay there.

Included: Ferry + hotel · Free island time
Optional (pay as you go): Boat snorkel experience · SUP & snorkel experience · E-bike rental

  • A short hop to Zamami — cobalt bays, lanes blooming with hibiscus, and the kind of quiet that only comes from being somewhere most people never bother to reach. Free time to swim, wander, or simply sit and watch the water. Mid-afternoon ferry back to the mainland, then north to Onnason village — your base for the next three nights. Breakfast buffets, comfy beds, and the rare luxury of unpacking properly and staying put for a while.

Included: Zamami ferry · Onnason hotel twin room
Optional (pay as you go): Glass-bottom boat · E-bike rental · Boat snorkel

  • The morning begins underground. Okinawa's coastal caves carry real weight — used as shelter and refuge during some of the darkest chapters of the island's history. Your guide will walk you through them, share the stories, and let the silence speak for itself. From there, into the light and into Murasaki Mura — stone lanes, shisa statues, artisan workshops you can actually walk into. Entry included. Afternoon yours to drift through Yomitan Murasaki Mura at your own pace. Evening: a reserved table at a locals-favourite izakaya in Okinawa City — good food, cold drinks, easy conversation after a good day.

Included: Murasaki Mura entry · Village free-roam · Izakaya dinner outing (food & drinks not inc)
Optional (pay as you go): Pottery workshop · Bingata dye art · Ryukyu glass making · Sanshin lesson · Cooking class · Surf & snorkel (conditions permitting and availability of staff)

  • North into the lush interior for a short jungle trek to a hidden waterfall. In summer, lunch is served streamside — stay in the water as long as you like. In winter, the group moves to a soba house tucked into the forest — warm, quiet, and exactly right for the season. The afternoon follows the coast to an ancient Ryukyuan village under an archway of fukugi trees. Dinner at a legendary local retro drive-in.

Included: Waterfall trek · Seasonal lunch · Fukugi village · Retro drive-in dinner outing (food & drinks not inc)
Optional (pay as you go): Churaumi Aquarium · Sanshin show (seasonal)

  • A ferry to Izena — small, unhurried, and well off the tourist trail. Quiet lanes, clear lagoons, smiles from the locals. The morning goes out on the water with a local captain: fishing rods, fresh bait, your own catch filleted on the deck and eaten as sashimi while you drift over the reef. Back on shore, a multi-course island feast laid on by a local Izakaya owner — fresh fish, island produce, flavours you will not find anywhere else. One of the best nights of the trip.

Included: Ferry to Izena · Half-day charter (fishing + snorkel) · Community island feast · Traditional house stay

  • A slow morning on Izena — wander the village lanes, find an empty beach, hike to the ancient hilltop viewpoint for 360° of sea and sky. Sugarcane pressing and umi budo (sea grapes) tasting — two small, distinctly Okinawan experiences that tend to stay with people long after the flight home. Afternoon ferry back to the mainland. A stop for fresh acerola on the return road. A group photo and we will send you on your way.

Included: Sugarcane pressing · Umi budo tasting · Bento lunch · Acerola stop
Optional (pay as you go): Extra half-day charter (weather & availability dependent)
